NIU by Vikings at SM Aura

Vikings, specially NIU in SM Aura Premier has been a go to for every family's birthday celebration. This month we have two birthday celebrants and since they were also back from US for a vacation, we decided to go to where else, NIU. :)

Niu has been always my personal favorite buffet restaurant. They offer a lot of variety of cuisine without sacrificing the quality of food. Aside from good food, they also offer different wines, beers and house mixed cocktails too.

Here are some of my favorites for our last night's dinner birthday celebration.

Leg of Lamb is always on top of my list, however for this time i'm a little disappointed with the person in charge in the meat carving station. I always prefer medium well or well done but the staff served me with wrong doneness and a big chunk that's not that edible enough due to large part was all fat that wasn't properly rendered.

California maki, salmon and tuna sashimi, may all time fave. You can taste the freshness compared to other buffet restaurants in the metro.

Sukiyaki

My DIY dessert sampler, creme brulee will always be on it :). They also have halo halo, soft serve sundae, and filipino desserts like sapin sapin and bibingka if your up to much more desserts.

Villa Escudero – Plantations & Resort

My pre-birthday celebration way back April 2014 was supposed to be just a simple dinner with some booze with my family and friends. But since my birthday fell on the Holy Week, most of them are either busy or already have plans going out of town. My beau decided to treat me instead to Villa Escudero since we were planning to go there way way back. The tour consist of free carabao cart ride, bamboo kayak ride, free entrance to the museum, chill and dip in the swimming pool, and of course, buffet lunch in the waterfalls.
